ISKCON, International Society for Krishna Consciousness, was established in the year 1966 by Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The aim of the society is to spread the teachings of Bhagwad Gita and Vedic scriptures to the common people and help them to lead a simple and pure life. There are 6000 temple that have been built by the society. The ISKCON temple in Vrindavan was established in the year 1975 by Swami Prabhupada, also known as Srila Prabhupada, whose bdy is laid in front f the temple and is known as Samadhi Mandir. The temple is made of marble and is decorated with stones. It is one of the most visited places of Vrindavan and it is not only visited by the pilgrims but also by the common people mainly because of its architecture. There are a lot of aratis that are held throughout the day and people can also attend the Bhagwad Gita classes within the temple.
