Kattabomman Memorial Fort is located in Salikulam an hour journey from Tuticorin City. The beautiful monument was first built by the King Veera Pandya Kattabomman who was also a freedom fighter, who lost his life for the country. It was destroyed by the British in 1799, out of vengeance towards to freedom fighter, later on, the archaeological society and the State Government restored this heritage site in honor of this brave heart freedom fighter. The premises also houses the temple of the Goddess Jakkammal.
