The Archeological and Art Museum is located within the compounds of the Thrissur Zoo. The hall was initiated as Sree Mulam Chithrasala in 1938 under the protection of the Government of Cochin. The gallery houses huge life-estimate statues of well-known and famous identities, models of old sanctuaries, landmarks, original manuscripts composed on dry palm leaves, etc. The gallery also houses stone monuments comprising of earthen pots, Urn internments, dark and red ornaments, russet products, stone age apparatuses, and exhumed materials retrieved from the Indus Valley Civilization and Harappa.
