Mussoorie is a hill station in the state of Uttarakhand. It is located in the Dehradun district. The hill station is also known as the Queen of the Mountains and the Queen of the Hills. The place was founded by Lt. Frederick Young of East India Company.The official language of the place is Hindi and Garhwali and has a population of 30,118. An adjoining town, which consists of a military cantonment, is known as ‘greater Mussoorie’. The place is a gateway to Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines of Northern India. Tourism is one of the most important aspects of Mussoorie’s economy. Certain attractions in the hill station are Nahata Estate, it is a beautiful property which covers more than 300 acres, Gun Hill, the highest point of Mussoorie, Kempty Falls, Lake Mist, it is a resort which provides accommodation, food and boating, Municipal Garden, it is an artificial small lake which has paddle boats, Mussoorie Lake, Bhatta Falls, Jharipani Falls, Mossy Falls, Happy Valley, Nag Devta Temple, Sir George Everest’s House, Cloud End, Jwalaji Temple, Mall Road, Benog Wildlife Sanctuary and the Lal Tibba.
