Dhanaulti is a hill station in the state of Uttarakhand. It is situated in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range and is located at a distance of around 24 km from Mussoorie. It is situated at an elevation of 2,286 m and is a very small town with a population of 1,021 whose official language is Hindi. The place is also often known as the ‘Vampire town of India’ and people claim to have seen vampires. It also has a group of devils, named Banglores, who are involved in illegal activities. The temperature generally ranges from 20C to 25C in the summers and 7C to -1C in the winters. The major attractions of the town are Eco Parks, one in Amber and the other one in Dhara. It was developed by the Forest Department of Uttarakhand and both male and female youth work as guides, gardeners, ticket collectors etc for the parks. Surkanda Devi Temple, Potato Farm, Himalayan weavers are also some of the other attractions of the region. The Mussoorie Forest Department is also setting up eco-huts for the tourists to enjoy the scenic view of Dhanaulti. The region also has adventure camps for the tourists.
