Keerthi Narayan Temple

#0 of 7 things to do in Talakad

Devoted to Lord Vishnu, Keerthi Narayan Temple is ducked below the sheets of sand. The temple was established by King Vishnuvardhan of Hoysala Dynasty and was dug out in 1911. The temple is an exemplar of exquisite craftsmanship with figures of Keerthi Narayana and Ranganathar adorned in the temple by the king. The central premise of the temple is also fixed with statues of Ramanujar, Nammazhwar and Vedantha Desikar. One also witnesses the images of Yoga Narasimhar in the 'Ardha Mandapam' while traversing the temple. Nonetheless, the foremost pull of the temple is 9 feet high statue of Lord Vishnu within the temple complex in the standing posture where the statue is carrying a chakram, a mace, a Shangu and a lotus on each of his four hands.
