It is said that pleased with the prayers of his devotees, Lord Shiva appeared in the form of Veera Sankara Swamy, popularly known as Sikhareswara Swamy. It is believed that Sikhareswara Swamy's blessings can eradicate the sins of the devotees. The 16 pillar mukhamandapam is an architectural specialty of this temple.

The stairways were built by the Reddy Kings in 1398 AD. In ancient eras, devotees used to come on foot for darshan at the temple. There are around 150 steps to the temple. However, if you are entering the temple from the southern side, then you can reach by climbing around 30 steps.

 

Temple Timings are from 6 AM to 2 PM in the morning and 5 PM to 8.30 PM in the evening.
