South Sikkim does not have an airport of its own. The nearest airport is the Bagdogra Airport, which is located at a distance of around 125 km from South Sikkim. There are cars, buses and shared jeeps available outside the airport. However this airport is not that well connected to other cities.

South Sikkim does not have a railway station of its own. The nearest station is New Jalpaiguri, which is located at a distance of around 120 km from South Sikkim. The station is well connected with other cities. There are buses, cabs and shared jeeps available from outside the railway station.

State-run buses as well as those owned by private agencies are available mainly from New Jalpaiguri or Bagdogra which take tourists to the district of South Sikkim.

Since it is a hilly area, the only direct way to travel is by the road. Thus the roads are well connected to other major cities. Shared jeeps and cabs are the most popular way to travel to the district.
