Shivpuri is a small city that falls under Shivpuri district of Gwalior division under the state Madhya Pradesh in India. The city is a popular tourist place, mostly during the monsoon time due to its lush greenery and lakes and waterfalls. Shivpuri is surrounded by beautiful green landscape and thick dense forest. It was once the summer capital for the royal family of Scindia who were the ruler of Gwalior. The small city is located at a height of 478 meters above sea level and has a very refreshing cool air that makes it a peaceful holiday destination. The George Castle, nestled deep in Madhav National Century, is an example of architecture that was built by Gwalior King in honor of British King George V on his visit. Shivpuri also has a very important historical memorial, the Tatya Tope Memorial, it was in the place, where the freedom fighter was hanged.
