How to Reach by Flight
Jubbarhatti is the airport at Shimla. Situated at a distance of 23 kilometres from the city, there are daily flights from Delhi and Kullu. If you wish to fly from any other part of the country or abroad you will have to change flights at Delhi.
How to Reach by Train
The best way to travel to Shimla is by train. The trains run on the track connecting Shimla to Kalka. It takes around 5 hours to reach Shimla from Kalka by train. Some of the trains are Shivalik Deluxe Express, Shivalik Express (also called the toy train), Rail Motor, Himalayan Queen and Holiday Trains. Holiday trains run only during tourist seasons.
How to Reach by Bus
Himachal Road Transport Corporation and many private operators provide daily buses to this destination, hence making a Shimla visit by bus an easier choice.

Local Cuisine
Pahari or Himachali cuisines have very little global presence. But, it’s simple flavours and earthiness leaves an everlasting impression on your mind. The most famous dishes from Shimla are Channa Madra (Chickpeas in gravy), Chicken Anardana, Siddus - a winter delight filled with a small amount of paste of poppy seeds, sometimes mutton or a sweet filling is also prepared, Sepu badi Madra made with a fine mixture of Urad & Chan Dal and Auriya Kadoo (Tasty Pumpkin).
