Located at a distance of 2 kms from the city centre, the ward’s lake is a must visit place in Shillong. Also known as Pollock’s Lake, the water body is surrounded by a beautiful landscape and garden is an ideal picnic spot for the locals as well as the tourists. The botanical garden surrounding the lake has several orchids and floral species. You walk around this wonderful horse-shoe shaped lake along the cobblestoned pathway or admire the beautiful flower beds around it. In the middle of the lake is a wooden bridge where you can stand and feed the fishes.  You can also enjoy the boating along the lake enjoying the beautiful landscape. Lying below Raj Bhavan (the Governor’s Residence), the lake can be easily accessed via local transport.
