A memorial for Indian fighters who dedicated their lives towards the patriotism and nation, known as The National War Museum was instituted in 1997 in Pune. It was founded by natives of Pune city following the Express Citizen Forum which launched the War Memorial Fund. The museum is located in Pune Cantonment and welcomes the masses to pay a visit to the dignified spot. The National War Museum is composed up of bulky pillars and sprawls over 25 feet of area. The notable appeal of the museum is MIG 23 BN Jet Fighter which was deployed during the Kargil War. The museum showcases firearms, uniforms and individual souvenirs which were presented as a Scottish augmentation to the British Army.
