Founded in 1986, by the endeavours of Mr Neelam Kumar Khaire, Katraj Snake Park is the most visited places in the city of Pune. The site houses approximately 160 varieties of snakes.  The snake park is currently underwritten by the Pune Municipal Corporation and has an interminable array of reptiles, snakes, birds and tortoises. Established adjacent to Pune on the Pune–Satara Highway at Katraj, the park renders distinct knowledge concerning snakes. Brown Palm Civet, nine feet long King Cobra brought from Sunderbans and some unique varieties of birds and tortoises are notable attractions of the park. Various programmes are held on the Hindu festivity of Nagpanchami, a festival to worship snakes, to dissuade the harassment of the snakes. The park also houses a library which exhibits knowledge about snakes very adequately. The park also encompasses of a zoo. The snake park has triumphantly succeeded to familiarise thousands of visitants with the amazing and captivating wildlife through its far-reaching accumulation of snakes, reptiles, birds and turtles.

Entry timings: 10:30 A.M to 6:00 P.M (closed on Wednesday)
