Dehu Gatha temple is amongst the biggest temples found in Pune. Dehu is a holy spot where Saint Tukaram took birth. The temple of Saint Tukaram was built in Dehu in 1723. It is believed that the house where he lived still subsists. At the entry of the temple rests the statue of Sant Tukaram Maharaj. The most notable attraction of this site involves the carvings of all Gathas of Sant Tukaram on the walls of the temple which are quickly comprehensible. According to the myths, one must read at least 3 Gathas upon touring the temple. The temple is positioned on the banks of river Indrayani. There is a point on the serene river where these Gathas drifts. One of the chief fascinations of Dehu is Palakhi in the month of Ashadh, every year during Palakhi, various people participate and cherish the Gathas of Saint Tukaram. The area is significant for the disciples of Saint Tukaram. A garden has also been devoted to Tukaram's spouse, moreover, rock has been mounted to honour his 13 days fast.
