At a distance of 3 km from Pondicherry Bus Station, situated in the Bharathi Park, Pondicherry Museum is  a hub for art enthusiasts, history lovers and explorers. Burial urns, French furniture, terracotta figures, crockery, guns, swords, paintings, mirrors, rare collection of bronze statues of several gods and goddesses and stone sculptures, artefacts from Roman empires that once lived in Pondicherry, a wide gathering of temple lamps, handicrafts etc are some of the few things that this museum houses. Paintings like Tanjore and glass paintings, colonial prints and contemporary oils, pastels and water colors are also in display. The museum also has a wide collection of snail shells collected from the beaches near Pondicherry and the ground floor of the museum has a grand palanquin exhibited.

10 AM - 5 PM.

Closed on Mondays and National holidays.
