There is also a myth believed by the locals that Lord Kartikeya performed religious penance in this same cave. The cave is surrounded by water ponds that are said to bore from the River Ganga and cure diseases. The cave also houses the famous Lord Kartikeya Temple which is made up of sands and stones from the caves and has carved inscriptions and arts in its wall.
