Omkareshwar Tourism
The beauty of this place lies in the way this small town is that the two valleys merge and giving way to the Narmada river to flow through. This gives the town the shape of an "Om". Omkareshwar derives its name from 'Omkara' which is another name for Lord Shiva. There are twelve Jyotirlingas across India and Omkareshwar is home for one of them. Thus making this place a famous destination for devotees and pilgrims.
There are two shrines laid here namely- Omkareshwar and Amarkareshwar. This town is also famous for its ancient architecture and scenic beauty. The town is surrounded by hills and mountain ranges. It is one of the most sacred towns in Madhya Pradesh and is made by the meeting of two rivers that is the Narmada and the Kaveri.
