Read moreHome to the Red Panda, a vulnerable species, Northern Sikkim with its numerous waterfalls along the main roads, makes the trip exceptionally amazing. Located at 600m from the capital of North Sikkim, Mangan serves as the base for trekking and hiking in the mountains. One of the major attractions of North Sikkim is the Kanchenjunga is the highest peak at over 8,000 m, straddling its western border with Nepal and can be seen clearly from the town of Singhik. Rest of the tourist attractions include famous lakes like Gurudongmar Lake and some monasteries Phensang Monastery and Lachen Monastery.

The local delicacies of North Sikkim include Momos and a variety of Thukpa. You can also try several fermented foods like Gundruk and Sinki, Chhurpi soup, Tama curry and Masauyra Curry.

Day 1:
Start Early from Gangtok to Lachen. The drive can take around 5 hours. After the breakfast, proceed to explore Lachen and the monastery. Spent the night in Lachen.
Day 2:
Early morning drive to Thangu village and further to Chopta valley. Drive further to Lachung via Chungthang. En route visit Chungthang confluence of Lachen Chu and Lachun Chu and Vimnala Water Falls. Spent the night in Lachung.
Day 3:
Start early morning drive to Yumthang valley. After lunch visit the Handicraft Centre & Lachung Monastery. Later drive back to Gangtok, In the evening arrive at Gangtok. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
