Netarhat is a hill station in the state of Jharkhand. It is located in the Latehar district. The place is also known as Queen of Chotanagpur and is the natural habitat of th primitive tribal community Asur. The place is a plateau covered with thick forest. The main attractions of the place are Magnolia Point, Upper Ghaghri Falls, Lower Ghaghri Falls, Koel View Point, Lodh Falls, Sadni Falls, Pine Forest and Betla National Park. The term Netarhat means heart of nature and the place is truly mesmerising and it is mainly popular for its sunrise and the sunset. It is a pocket friendly place for a weekend getaway for people living in and around the state of Jharkhand. The different places to stay t Netarhat are Hotel Prabhat Vihar, Ravi and Shashi Lodge, Hotel Verma, Dak Bungalow, Hotel Prakash, Lake View Resort, Arunodaya Guest House etc. The serene plateau is a very sought after destination by the tourists.  


Since it is a hill station, it does not have a lot to offer in terms of food. The small eateries or the restaurants that are present generally serve Bengali and Bihari cuisines. The bihari cuisine mainly includes the Bihari thali that consists of rice, roti, achar, chatni, dal and milk products. The traditional bihari food include Kadhi Bari, Khichdi, Ghugni, Pittha, Choora, Sattu, Dhuska and Litti. Some of these dishes are also found in the Bengali cuisine. The vegetarian dishes in both Bihari and Bengali cuisine are Saag, Kofta, Palak Paneer, Shahi Paneer and vegetarian korma. Mutton Biriyani, Bihari Kebab, Chicken tandoori, prawns are some of the non-vegetarian dishes. People also enjoy samosas, kachori, bhurta, samosa chaat, chokha etc.

Netarhat does not have an airport of its own neither does it have a railway station of its own. However it is well connected t Ranchi through roadways.

Netarhat does not have an airport of its own. The nearest airport is Ranchi airport, which is located at a distance of around 156 km. The airport connects Ranchi well to other major cities of the country. There are taxi services available outside the airport to reach Netarhat.

How to Reach by Train

Netarhat does not have a railway station of its own. The nearest railway station is Ranchi Railway Station which is located at a distance of around 155 km. The railway station has regular trains from other major cities of the country.

There are several state-run buses as well as those owned by private agencies that leave from Ranchi for Netarhat.
