Nellore is a city in the state of Andhra Pradesh and falls in the Nellore district. The city lies on the banks of the Penna River. The name of the place has been derived from two words, ‘Nel’ which means paddy and ‘Ooru’ which means place. The connectivity of flights to this airport from the cities of Andhra Pradesh like Hyderabad, Vishakapatnam etc and thus the Chennai Airport, located at a distance of around 177 km, is also another good option from Nellore. There are taxi services available outside the airport to reach Nellore.
Nellore Railway Station has good connectivity of trains from places like Chennai, Hyderabad and other places. It is also well connected to places like Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Trivandrum etc.
There are several state-run buses as well as those owned by private agencies that connect Nellore to the major cities like Chennai and Hyderabad. The 2 main bus stations are PSR Bus Station and RTC Bus Station.
Nellore can also be connected to other places by roadways. From Chennai it takes around 3 hours by car to reach Nellore and is connected to Chennai and Kolkata by NH5 and thus can be availed by buses from these two major cities of the country.
People can hire a cab or a taxi or even an auto rickshaw. Buses are also a good option to travel within the city.
Certain festivals like Pongal, Makara Sankranti, Diwali, Holi, Ram Navami, Ganesh Chaturthi are celebrated all over the country with great zeal. Rotiyaan ki eid is a festival which is celebrated at the Bara Shaheed Dargah of Nellore. Ugadi is also another festival celebrated in the city.
Day 1- After reaching Tirupati Airport, leave for Nellore. After reaching Nellore leave for Barah Shaheed Dargah, Narasimhaswamy Temple, Mypadu Beach and Ramalingeswara Temple.
Day 2- After breakfast leave for Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary, Patu Ru, Pulicat Lake and Ranganatha Temple.
