

Poor Man's Ooty
Nelliyampathy is an unexplored hill station in Palakkad district of Kerala. Nelliyampathy is famous for its unexplored lush green forest, orange gardens, and coffee plantations. The altitude varies from 450m to 1500m. It is also known as Poor Man's Ooty.Nelliyampathy can be visited throughout the year but its ideal to visit right after the monsoon.
There are restaurants in Pulayampara and Kaikatty which serve South Indian food.
Nelliyampathy is yet to be developed as a major tourist destination. There are a few resorts, hotels and homestays.
Carry table salt as leaches are quite common in hilly areas.
Avoid trekking in the early morning as the wild animals can be there.
Day1: Reach Nelliyampathy by early morning and visit Poothundi dam and lake followed by a visit to Green Valley farm and Orange farm.
Day2: Visit Seetharkundu viewpoint and Karapara waterfalls
