The lake of nine corners is a hill station in the Nainital district. It is surrounded by green trees and dense forest. It is one of the deepest lakes in the whole of Nainital district. Naukuchiatal is one of the calmest and quiet destinations to go to. For someone who wants to have a relaxed vacation, this place is the best to be. Surrounded by nature with lakes all around the city, Naukuchiatal is one of the best hill stations to go to. There are many things to do here, activities such as parasailing, paragliding, fishing, rowing, paddling etc. The 'escape festival' is very famous in Naukuchiata which happens once a year. This place is known for the nine lakes that are 1 km in length and 40 m deep. This place is connected to a very ancient legend that goes around the locals. It is said that one glimpse of all nine corners of the lake with both feet on the earth can make the viewer disappear into smoke to achieve bliss. 

There are many places to visit here including many temples across the city. The Sat-tal is a very famous tourist location in Naukuchiatal. Located nineteen kilometres away from Naukuchiatal, Sat Tal is a cluster of seven freshwater lakes each connected together and surrounded by thick forests and pine trees.  Naukuchiatal is indeed a very calm place to be.

Naukuchiatal Tourism

Naukuchiatal is an ideal place to go on adventures such as rowing, paddling and yachting. It is situated right in the middle of the gorgeous Himalayan valleys. This place is famous for the nine lakes present there. The panoramic view of nature's beauty is something that makes Naukuchiatal worth going for. There are many festivals celebrated here such as Raksha Bandhan, a game of Bagwal is played on this occasion. The Kainchi Dham Mela happens in mid-June. The Kumaoni Village will give you an insight into the local lives of the people living here. One can hike to Reti Khan. The speciality of Reti Khan is that there is no connectivity and hence can stay cut off from the world for a while.

The nearest airport is about 74 km away known as Pant Nagar airport. The nearest railway station is Kathgodam railway station which is 44 km away. The roadways are also very well connected with other major cities. Naukuchiatal is well connected to all other cities with proper mode of transportation. 

How to Reach by Flight

The nearest airport is about 74 km away known as Pant Nagar airport. The drive from Pant Nagar to Naukuchiatal is about two- two and a half hours.  Cabs and taxis are easily available outside the airport. One can also opt for Dehradun airport that is about a five-hour drive from Naukuchiatal. 

How to Reach by Train

The nearest railway station is Kathgodam railway station which is 44 km away. It is well connected to other major cities such as Bangalore, Shimla, Delhi, Kolkata etc. Buses and taxis are available to reach the final destination.

How to Reach by Bus

There are state buses as well as private buses that operate from many major cities in the country to this place. These buses travel regularly to and from Naukuchiatal. This also allows access to many other hill stations such as Nainital, Almora etc.

Naukuchiatal does not have many eateries in and around this place. However, there are places available where you can find all kinds of cuisine.
