Whether it's the tusks of a mammoth or the resins of a woodland tree that lived eons ago, Suketi Fossil Park can transport tourists hundreds of thousands of years back in time, giving them a peek through the curtain of evolution. Suketi Fossil park is the first and one of the only parks in Asia where fossils can be discovered. The oldeest fossill here dates back 8.5 million years.

The park is also famous for it's six-life size sculptures of pr=historic animals that are made of Fibre Reinforced Plastic. The park, as of now has 6 models including the Stegodonganesa, which is the extinct grand elephant, Sivatherium, Colloschelys Atlas, which the giant land tortoise, Paramechaerdus, which is the sabre-toothed tiger, Hexa-protodon sivalensis, which is the six-incisored hippopotamus and Crocodilia.

Furthermore, there is also a muesum which gives tourists an insight into the evolutionary cycle through exhibits, models, charts and paintngs. These cover the various dimensions of plant and animal life. It allows the tourists to connect with what they have seen in the park.

This is not where it ends. The area around the park is surrounded by beautiful flowers, fruits and plantations that is managed by the Himachal Pradesh horticulture departent. It embaces plant life is in it's multiple aspects and is home to hundreds of plant spieces, be it a small herb or a tall tree.

These multiple attractions cause tourists from all around the world to visit this unique and one-of-a-kind park.

  • Days: Wenesday-Monday; Park is closed on Tuesdays and public holidays.
  • Government-run cafetarias provide hygeneic food and refreshments.
