Jaitak Fort was built from the remanants of the Nahan Fort by the Gurkha leader, Rajor Singh Thapa. This fort was built in the year 1810. The fort gives a peep into the history of British-Nepalese wars and serves a memorial for the 600 soldiers who died in the battle. Located on a hilltop, this fort refreshes tourists' minds with the breeze and beauty. The picturesque view of the valley will leave most toutists awestruck. Surrounded by steep slopes and forests it not only gives an insight into the heritage but depicts the eternal bond between human culture and heritage and the beauty of mother Nature. 

Some important points to note:

  • Tourists can trek till the fort, it is about 2 km. It takes 1 hour to cover the distance
  • Make sure you carry your own water and snacks, as there are no rest areas or eateries there.
  • Be hydrated and avoid excessive heat by wearing scarves, hats and caps. 
  • Trekking can be done by children.
