Located directly underneath the Naggar Castle, Gauri Shankar temple is devoted to Lord Shiva which dates back to 12th century A.D. The temple is considered to be the ultimate masterpiece of the Gurjara-Pratihara customs. The temple is a protected monument is noted for its imposing Shikhara Style construction. The temple stars a dome-shaped crown while the base is a square mould. It has simple Shikhara having nine storeys and adorned with Ardharatna leitmotifs and embellishments.

The statues of Gauri and Shankar are placed upon the foundation, seated atop Nandi. The Garbagriha is embellished with exquisite carvings of pictures of Lord Ganesh, several people performing various musical instruments and also with the carvings of dancing ladies. The temple is encompassed by lavish and teeming greenery facing the Beas River.
