The castle was once the residence of Raja Sidh Singh of Kullu. Constructed in AD 1460, the castle is an extraordinary blend of European and Himalayan style of architecture. Adorned with beautiful fireplaces, fitting staircases, and luxurious stone and wood works bless the castle's galleries. In the year 1978, the castle was transformed into a rest house, and more latterly into a heritage hotel that is administered by Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC). The religious Beas River springs near to the castle, supplementing majesty and sacredness to it.
