Located in Kodagu and Mysore dstrict in Karnataka, near Bandipur National Park, Nagarhole National Park is known for its rich collection of animals and birds. Also known as the Rajiv Gandhi national park, this park is under consideration by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee for recognition as a World Heritage Site. Being a part of  Nilgiri biosphere reserve, this park is blessed with many waterfalls, hills, valleys, streams and forests. With Kabini River on the north and Bandipur National park on its south, this park has 47 streams, 41 artificial tanks, 4 lakes, 4 perennial streams along with a reservoir and a dam. It is a known fact that Nagarhole national park has the highest density of herbivores in Asia. The park house reptiles like the King Cobra, Krait, Indian Rock Python, Russel's Viper, vine snake, Tortoise, Monitor Lizard and Toads. It is best for spotting elephants, guar, tiger and bear. One can also find trees such as sandalwood, silver oak, rosewood and teak. For all those nature lovers this place is a paradise they should not miss visiting.

Although the safaris cannot be booked online, the two options are as follows :

- 26-seater minibus safaris which is operated by the Forest Department runs twice per day. The cost is 250 rupees per head for adults and rupees 125 for children.

- Jeep safaris  that are usally booked through hotels, are operated by Jungle Lodge's and Resorts (owned by the Karnataka government).

Wildlife Safari Timings :
Jeep safari : from 5:30 am to 10:00 am and, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Coracle ride : from 9 am to 11 am and, from 5 pm to 6 pm
Bus safari : 6 am to 9 am and, from 3 pm to 5 pm
