Situated in Brahmagiri Hills between Srimangala & Kutta in Coorg (Madikeri) district , at a distance of 20 km from Nagarhole National Park, Iruppu falls is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the region. Also known as the Lakshmana Tirtha Falls, joining the Cauvery River, the water of Iruppu falls is considered holy and believed to possess powers to clean sins of the devotees. Iruppu Falls, a part of the Brahmagiri forest range, drops from a height of 170 feet. There is a trek that leads to the Narimale forest camp and then towards the  Brahmagiri Peak. Another attraction on the way to the falls is the Rameshwara Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva which is on the banks of the Lakshmana Tirtha River. The best time to visit the falls is during the monsoon season that is August to September. One should visit the falls to enjoy the greenery and the serene atmosphere of the place with its religious connections.
