Guru Shikhar

#0 of 9 things to do in Mount abu

Guru Shikar is the highest peak in Aravalli ranges at an altitude of 1722 m and lies at about 15 kms from Mount Abu. Guru Shikar with its thick verdant forest cover, promises a breath-taking view of the Aravalli ranges and Mount Abu.

It is a perfect spot for hiking and a wonderful destination for both nature lovers and photographers. The people are drawn here for 2 reasons: one being the magnificent view and the other being the delicious breakfast. The shops lined up on the way offers a number of souvenirs and food items. If you are going with your family, you can plan a picnic on top.

Other places to visit around the peak includes Dattatreya temple, Chamundi temple, Shiva temple, and Mira temple. The peak is also home to Mt. Abu observatory with a 1.2 m infrared telescope. When visited during October and November the weather gets more cloudy and misty. Walking through Guru Shikhar at such a time would feel like walking through clouds around you.
