Experience the flor and fauna of Mashobra
Mashobra is a town in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It falls in the Shimla district. An interesting feature of the journey from Shimla to Mashobra is that people have to travel through the Hindustan-Tiber Road that was built by Lord Dalhousie in 1850. Mashobra is a part of the Shimla Water Catchment Wildlife sanctuary and has a lot of pine, oak and cedar trees along with a variety of fauna like monkeys, jackals, langurs, barking deer etc. Leopard can also be spotted at times in this area. The major attractions of the place are Criagnano, the reserve forest sanctuary, the mahasu peak which celebrates the mahasu fair and the Wallflower Hall which has now been converted into a hotel by the Oberoi group of Hotels.
Mashobra does not have any special cuisine of its own and does not even have a lot of street food to offer to the tourists. There are a variety of dishes that people can try such as Boor ki Kari, Chicken Anardana, Sepu vadi, Gucchi Mattar, Kaddu Ka Khatta etc. The non-vegetrian dishes are mostly spicy in the entire region in and around Shimla. There are restaurants that people can go to for a variety of cuisines, also there are enough dhabas that are quite affordable and can fir the budget of the tourists. There are also luxurious restaurants that are available in almost all the hotels, however one of the most expensive restaurants is the one at Wallflower Hall Hotel.

Mashobra does not have an airport of its own and neither a railway station. However it is well connected by roads to the nearby major cities.

Mashobra does not have an airport of its own. The nearest airport is the Shimla Airport, located at a distance of around 11 km. Another airport is the Chandigarh Airport which can also be availed to reach the place and is located at a distance of around 66 km. These airports are well connected to Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai etc.
How to Reach by Train
Mashobra does not have a railway station of its own. The nearest one is the Shimla Railway Station, which is located at a distance of around 11 km from Mashobra. However it is not well connected with major cities. The nearest major railway station is Chandigarh railway Station, which is located at a distance of around 140 km.
How to Reach by Bus
There are state-run buses, Himachal Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation, as well as those owned by private agencies that provide buses from various nearby cities.
How to Reach by Road
The place is well connected by roadways to major cities. Chandigarh is located at a distance of around 140 km, Ludhiana at a distance of around 216km, Shimla at around 10 km, Ambala at around 166 km and Manali at around 246 km.
How to travel within
People can take cabs or walk from one place to the other in the city.
In Mashobra the two popular fairs are the Mahasu Fair and the Sipi Fair,that are celebrated in the month of May. Sipi Fair is celebrated in the honour of Sip Devta and there are several cultural programmes that are held during this fair. Mahasu Fair, celebrated for two days to honour Lord Shiva in the month of May, is also known as Mahasu Jatara. The people of Mashobra also celebrate baisakhi, lohri etc.
Day 1- After reaching the Shimla Airport, leave for Mashobra. After that visit Reserve Forest Sanctuary, Craignano, Mahasu Peak and Wallflower Hall Hotel.
