Maravanthe is a village and has a beach and is located in Karnataka. It is locted in the Udupi district. While crossing The National Highway (NH17) that passes from a very close distance, the Arabian Sea can be seen on one side and the Sauparnika River with with Kodachadri Hills forming the backdrop can be seen on the other side. Fishing is the main activity of the people of this place; however the economy is not very flourished because the infrastructure for marketing and the produce is not well developed. Agriculture is another main source of economy of this place. White sand is found for several miles in the beach of Maravanthe and thus it has been given a nickname of Virgin Beach. During the summer, the place experiences scorching heat and very high temperatures. During winter it has a very pleasant weather and is the best time of be visited. There are also two villages named Trasi and Padukone. The different places to visit apart from the beach and the two villages are Kodachadri Hills, Kodi Beach, Ottinere, a getaway to enjoy the beautiful sunset, Bijadi, another village located in the vicinity, St Mary’s Island, Anegudde Vinayaka Temple and Siddi Vinayak Temple. There are not many options for staying at this place. However there are few hotels like Sunlight Beach Resort, Sagar Kinara Beach Resort, and Turtle Bay Beach Resort etc.
There are no shopping places at the place, though there are several restaurants and the food is not expensive.
Day 1-After reaching the Mangalore Airport proceed towards Maravanthe. On reaching the beach town, visit the Anegudde Vinayaka Temple, Kodi Beach and then go for shopping.
Day 2- After breakfast leave for Kodachadri Hills and Trekking.
Day 3- After breakfast leave for Padukone, Siddi Vinayak Temple and Maravanthe Beach.
