Kadri Manjunatha Temple

The temple of Kadri Manjunatha is located on the hills of Kadri. It is a very beautiful and famous temple in Mangalore. It was built in the 10th or 11th century. It was transformed into a complete stone structure in the 14th century. The bronze idol of Lokeshwar is 5 feet high, which is known as the oldest of the South Indian temples. It has an inscription of late 968 A.D carved on the pedestal. The inscription has a story of King Kundavarma of the Alupa Dynasty who placed the Lokeshwara idol in Kadarika Vihara.
