Narayan Sarovar, Bhuj

#9 of 17 things to do in Kutch

Narayan Sarovar is one of the five holiest lakes in Hinduism; believed to be created by Narayan a form of Lord Vishnu at the time of a drought in response to the prayers of his devotees. Despite the legends and myths, this lake is still a sweet surprise to any travellers who travel through all those barren lands to finally reach this large water body. 125 km away from Bhuj. this place is accessible by public buses which start both in the mornings and evenings. There are places for stay and food around Narayan Sarovar for tourists. The nearby destinations include Koteshwar Temple which is only 2 km from there; Lakhpat (28 km further) or Narayan Sarovar Wildlife Sanctuary (15 km) are a bit farther and can be accessible only by private vehicles, so if planning to visit these spots along with the lake then better hire cabs or two-wheelers from Bhuj itself right when you start your trip.
