The Uppin Ganpati also known as Vinayakar Temple is situated at a distance of 114 km from Kumta in the town of Mallapur. This ancient temple was constructed by the King of Vijayanagar and was once dedicated to Lord Shiva. Later on, the idol of Lord Ganesha was bought from the Mallapur village and sanctioned here and hence it became the temple of Ganpati. It is a beautiful temple with an arch and the main hall that was built in 1949. The devotees come here from all over Karnataka to fulfil their wishes and seeking blessing for auspicious beginnings of work, removal of obstacles, renewal of energy, Success, Wisdom and Agricultural productivity.
