Just like the name suggests, the Bijli Mahadev has a story attached to lightning. It is said that once lightning struck the building and broke the Shivling into many pieces. Then a priest joined it back using butter. 

Just like the astonishing story, the 3 km long trek to this temple is no less astonishing. The entire trek is covered with pine trees and looks breath-taking. 

A lot of tourists come to this historical temple to take Lord Shiva's blessings and witness the magic which is its story and also enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of snow-clad mountains it has to offer.
