Constructed by the British around the 1930s, the tungarlis Lake is paradise for young backpackers. This artificial reservoir is also the major source for drinking water in the area. There are camping facilities available around the lake and no permissions of any kind are required, so it is completely hassle-free. During the monsoons, the place is covered in lush vegetation, making it a refreshing escape for the city dwellers.
