Adinath Temple

#3 of 10 things to do in Khajuraho

The Adinatha Temple falls under the Eastern Group of Temples in Khajuraho. It is a Jain Temple dedicated to the Jain Tirthankara Adinatha. The architecture and design of the temple are inspired by the Vamana Temple of Lord Vishnu with few differences. The walls of the temple feature exquisite sculptures of beautiful women’s, Couples, mythical beings, dancers and musicians. Although it’s a Jain Temple, the carvings have Hindu deities adorning its walls.  Being part of one of the oldest temple groups, it’s partly now in ruin but still capacitates a picturesque view of culture in its carvings and statues.
