The Bhimeswara Temple or Sri Chalukya Kumararama Sri Bhimeswaraswamy vari temple is situated in Samalkota near Kakinada. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, known as Kumara Bhimeswara, and is rectangular in shape. Maha Shivarathri is celebrated in this temple. The temple was built in 922 by Chalukyas and was made a National Heritage Site. The linga is 14 feet tall and is made up of limestone. Shaasanas was scripted into the pillars of the temple which has the list of all the gifts that the temple has received through the years.
