One of the most famous places of to visit in Junagadh is sthe Uperkot Fort, with a lot of history being attached, it drives tourist from all over the world. The walls of this fort are 2300 years old and are 20m high at some places along with 300ft deep moats. An interesting fact about this fort is that for the protection of the fort crocodiles used to live here.

Two jewels of this fort are Neelam and Manek which were brought in by the Turks are the major attractions for people. In addition to this, the age old stepwells and caves inside the fort compound make it unique.
