Galtaji Temple

#16 of 18 things to do in Jaipur

Galtaji temple is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage about 10 km away from Jaipur, worshipping a sage named Rishi Galav. He is known to have lived here, practised meditation, and having done penance. The temple actually consists of a series of temples built into a narrow crevice in the ring of hills that surrounds Jaipur. A natural spring emerges high on the hill and flows downward, filling a series of sacred kunds (water tanks) in which pilgrims bathe. this site is considered very holy particularly among the women as they come and pray here annually, for the well being of their husband and family.
