Hazaribagh Tourism

Jharkhand's most valuable possession after coal and minerals is its abundant forests. The state is situated on the Chhota Nagpur plateau, giving it an elevation from sea-level of about 600 meters. One such place blessed with untouched, raw forests is Hazaribagh. The town is full of nature's blessings in the form of hills, lakes and forests. One such highlight of the place is the wildlife sanctuary which is extremely beautiful.

There are three natural divisions of this district – Medium Plateau, Lower Plateau and Damodar Valley. The district headquarter is a part of the medium plateau, which is situated at the height of about 2,000 ft from the sea level. The whole area is surrounded by the lower plateau, except for the western part of the medium plateau. The height of the lower plateau is about 1,300 ft above the sea level. Damodar Valley is in the southern part of this district where Ramgarh town is situated which is about 1,000 ft below the districts headquarter.

This natural division makes the place breathable with its growing population. The actual problem with the place is that a lot of people outside the state do not know about the hidden treasure Jharkhand has. While this makes tourism less, it does help in keeping the forests unexploited. Thus, if you want to spend some time in the wilderness very very close to nature, Hazaribagh is definitely the place for you.
