Ashtapad

#5 of 6 things to do in Hastinapur

Ashtapad exists in the high mountain ranges of the Himalayas which is 160 miles away from Badrinath. The first Tirthankara, Bhagwan Rishabedev attained his deliverance here. The king Bharat Chakravarti built his palace in Ashtapad, in the mountains of the spot. The whole palace is decorated with precious diamonds, which acts as the centrepiece of attraction for the tourists. People come around the world just to see the remarkable work done to build this auspicious palace. According to the Jain mythology, the one who visits this palace attains salvation. The word “Ashtapad” means eight steps. The palace is 151 feet tall and 108 meters in diameter making it huge. It’s a beautiful place to witness.
