Vithala Temple is another architectural marvel that is easily one of the largest and prominent monuments of Hampi. The temple holds a dear place among Hindus and is dedicated to Lord Vithala, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.   • Maha Mantapa: Sitting on a highly ornate base, it is located within the temple complex and comprises of four smaller halls. 
  • Stone Chariot: Also known as Ratha, stands in the courtyard and is actually a shrine that was designed in the form of a chariot.
  • Musical Pillars of Ranga Mantapa: Being one of the main attraction of Vithala temple, it commands your attention by 56 musical pillars which are also known as SAREGAMA pillars. 

The musical notes emanating from the pillars are an enticing element for many who here and is attributed to it being carved out of a single resonant stone.
