#18 of 21 things to do in Hampi

Shopping is a thrilling experience whenever you are traveling, whether buying souvenirs for your loved ones or keepsakes for yourself. It can be anything to remind you of this magical place on earth and Hampi will leave you spoilt for choices!

You will spot many handcrafted stone pieces either figurines of Gods or forms imitating the structure of the many famous ruins here. They can fit in your pocket and are not very expensive. Several Lambani women here make bags, jewelry and little trinkets at several spots. You will be pleasantly surprised by the intricate craft work with bright textiles and hand embroidered threads fused with metal bells. You can pamper yourself with these by buying embroidered quilts, cushion covers or even wall panels. You also get some of the finest collection of leather products here from bags to even footwear.

It goes without saying that Hampi enjoys the cultural significance it is bestowed with and you can see that even in the local shopping scenes. You will find myriad of musical instruments from djembe, flute to even ektara. Banana being a popular crop here, Hampi is also famous for banana fibre crafts. They include bags, baskets, and cushion covers.

You can find all these and more in many stalls in bazaar roads. Some of them are located near the Virupaksha temple and even in the Hippie island too.
