Gopalpur is a town in the state of Odisha, India. It is located in the Ganjam district. It is a popular beach and a tourist destination which was initially a commercial port. The town has a population of 6,663. The city, under the ownership of Soraine family, grew from a small fishing village to a commercial port with a trade route with Burma. However later a lot of things were transferred to the British missionaries. Goplpur has now become of the most popular beaches in India. The tiny town is around 16 km away from Behrampur, the commercial hub of Southern Odisha. The most famous festival of the town is Gopalpur Beach Festival, which is organised by the Ganjam District Hotel Association and the Odia Government. The festival, which started in the year 1996, is held every year on the Gopalpur Beach in the last week of December. The five-day long festival showcases Odia culture, songs, dance, sand art, handicrafts and other kinds of entertainment like fairs. The city also celebrates Sankranti, when the sky is covered with colourful kites.
Day 1- After reaching Behrampur Railway Station take a taxi and go to Gopalpur. After reaching the hotel leave for Gopalpur Beach, Gopalpur Lighthouse and Mayfair Palm Beach Resort.
Day 2- After breakfast leave for Chilika Lake and Ramha (Chilika). Rest for the day at the hotel.
