The Basistha Temple in Guwahati is situated in the southeastern corner of the city. This temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and was built by Rajeswar Singha in the year 1764. This temple is worked inside an ashram which is known as the Basistha grand magnificence. It is said that a holy person named Vasistha lived in this ashram, and along these lines, it has been named as the Basitha Ashram. One can see here numerous figures made of stones and earthenware. The greatest fascination of the ashram anyway is where the assemblage of sage Vasistha lays in harmony.
