The Assam State Zoo and Botanical Garden are one of a kind and biggest in its association in the North Eastern part of India. The zoo is situated inside the Hengerbari Reserved Forest, arranged in the edges of the city of Dispur. There are in excess of 100 types of birds and creatures to be found in this zoo. It was built up in the year 1957, after the finish of the 64th session of the Indian National Congress, where a couple of wild animals were shown, and it was important to give them an asylum when the gathering finished. Later in the year 1982, a professional botanical garden was likewise added to it, alongside an exhibition hall.
