Situated around 30 minutes away from Dehradun City is the famous Forest Research Institute of India, popularly known as FRI. This well-known tourist attraction site is an architectural marvel of colonial style that has a vast collection of forestry-related items in its six museums. The institute is spread over 2000 acres and has drawn a lot of attraction due to its scenic landscapes that have become the ground for many Bollywood productions. The main building is a National Heritage that is styled in Greek-Roman Architecture. The serene and peaceful environment of FRI has a wide variety of plant and trees housing the museums of pathology, timber, social forestry, silviculture, entomology and non-wood forest products.
