St Jerome Fort

#7 of 8 things to do in Daman

To the north of river Damanganga lies this ancient citadel that speaks for itself, the rich historical and architectural grandeur of Daman. This massive garrison also goes by the name Nani Daman Fort. This fort is named after St. Jerome, an eminent priest of the Catholic Church. Spanning across an area of 12,250 square meters, St. Jerome Fort features a church, cemetery and ruins. Our Lady of the Sea Church is now used as a school. From the fort, the view is breathtaking, with the Damanganga river and the vast Arabian sea dotted with fishing boats.
