World War II Cemetery

#3 of 6 things to do in Changlang

Hidden in the thick jungles on the banks of river Namchik, this cemetery containing over 1000 graves was unearthed by the army recently. This is famously known as the Jairampur Cemetry and is spread over an area of 3 acres. It is the burial ground to a number of allied soldiers, mostly Chinese, Indian and British. A very large grave is located in the center of the site which can possibly be explained as a mass burial. It is located 25 kilometers from the Indo-Burma border and is currently under renovation to be preserved by the government of Arunachal Pradesh. Visit the cemetery to pay homage to the martyrs.
